Column pivot charts are a great and popular way to visualize data in pivot tables. This one is a pretty cool one that I had to make my own because I needed a column pivot chart with lots of rows and columns.

It’s also possible to create a clustered pivot chart with fewer columns by making a single column in the middle of the chart and counting up the number of columns in the rest of the chart. This is a common trick among many charting packages.
As it turns out, the only way to make a clustered pivot chart with fewer columns is to use a formula, but if you’re using a charting package, you can always use a formula for the last column in the chart.
The result is a column pivot chart with a clustered column pivot that uses the right amount of columns. It looks more condensed, but it also makes it easier to read the chart and makes it a little easier to see where the data lies.
There’s a similar trick to this one, but I don’t think there’s a package that does this more efficiently than the one that I use. I just prefer to use an Excel formula with the last column in the chart.
