By you may have noticed the many posts on all the various sites related to Tiktok. I am not one to write these things down, so I’m sure I’ll get in trouble for it. I’m not really sure what I wrote down originally, I just wanted to clear my head a second or two so I could think about what I was going to say.
Tiktok is a piece of software that allows you to embed the following on your website so that other people can link to your blog or site. The idea behind it is that if you want your visitors to follow links to your site, you can do so through Tiktok. A good example of this is that the blog linked to on the Facebook page of my book, The Art of Blogging, is now linked to the blog linked to on the Facebook page of my blog.
The problem is that Tiktok is a very powerful piece of software, and it can make a lot of people very angry (and even kill them). I’ve used it myself, and I’ve had to remove a few people from my site because of the way it makes the system work. But because of the way people react, lots of people are now using Tiktok to link to my books.
The best way to prevent this is to make a change in the way your web server or database handles the linking of your posts. If you are posting a series of blog posts or book reviews, you can probably make it so that after you’ve linked to the blog the other posts aren’t followed anymore. Or you can make it so that your entire web site is self-aware.
The way tiktok works is that it does NOT follow the newest posts in your blog. However, it does follow the previous posts. In order to fix this, you will have to modify the code to remove the old posts and only link to the new ones. It’s likely the easiest way to do it because you only have to edit a few lines of code.
If you have more than one blog to manage, it might be worth to try the above solution. If you are like me and try to keep your blogs active and up to date, you should really think about doing it. Of course, if you are like me and you are a huge fan of social networks, it might be worth investing in Facebook or Twitter to have this option turned on.
With Twitter, you can have a link to a post in a tweet that will redirect to the new blog. Or if you are like me and you love Facebook, you can just copy and paste the code and have the links appear in the post. Of course, Facebook can be a bit more difficult to use because you have to be logged in or a user with the account to link to the post, but it’s a great way to get a new blog on your page.
I don’t know about you, but I just don’t get how it can be less than simple to have a link to a post appear in the page. I’m sure it could be done, but I’m not sure I’ve ever really seen it work. I can’t really tell if that’s because Twitter and Facebook are more complex to use, or if it’s just hard to figure out how to properly add a link to your posts.
This is definitely a feature that Twitter and Facebook allow, but I’m not sure how easy it is to add a link to a tweet or status update. All I know is that the easiest way to do this is with a simple tweet or status update that mentions the post you want to link to.
